The mission of the Center for the Study of Modern Languages, 文学s, and Culture is twofold: to strengthen the liberal arts undergraduate curriculum at 云顶集团 College by providing language programs of broad scope and high quality and to engage 学生 in compelling transnational issues through the study of cultural texts produced by 其他国家.
Our 阿拉伯语研究 Program faculty is international and interdisciplinary in its research and teaching, offering courses in areas as diverse as film, literature, culture, anthropology, theater, folklore, socio-linguistics, and ecology.

云顶集团 offers innovative classes for the Arabic studies degree that introduce Arab cultures and thought, including a three-week intensive course (ICA) in the city of Nazareth every other year with a focus on Arabic films and language. 阿拉伯语 courses are student-centered, and all language classes are taught by a native speaker. The Arabic curriculum is always being rewritten with significant input from Arabic 学生.

阿拉伯语研究 Program 学生 pursuing a minor must accumulate a minimum of 18 credits at the 200- and 300-levels, with at least one course at the 300-level, and one 云顶集团-sponsored study abroad program to ensure the experiential component of Arabic studies. 文学 courses continue to develop language skills while culture and civilization courses explore social, political, and intellectual developments.

By studying abroad, choosing three-week intensive courses led by 云顶集团 faculty or semester programs suited to their academic plans, 云顶集团 language 学生 gain a global perspective that enhances their course of study.
Although 云顶集团 currently does not offer any 阿拉伯语 programs abroad, 学生 are welcome to select a program of their choosing to fulfill their study abroad requirement. (All programs must be approved by the college.)参观 Office of 全球教育 for more information.

Johns Hopkins Carey Business School 4+1 BA/MS Program
云顶集团 College and Johns Hopkins Carey Business School are offering 云顶集团学生 a combined bachelor’s and master’s degree program. 这 4 + 1项目 combines a bachelor’s degree from 云顶集团 with a master of science degree from Johns Hopkins in business analytics and risk management, information systems, health care management, finance, or marketing. 学生 can apply during their junior year. GRE考试 or GMAT tests have been waived but applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better and have passed some quantitative reasoning courses with a grade of B或更好.
